Built with his own hands by a humble, uneducated farmer.
Built with recycled materials and unusual architectural solutions.
Cathedral not consecrated as a religious building since the church does not recognize it as such.
International tourist monument.
Building built without plans whose extension is
4,700 square meters:
1 two-story central nave.
12 towers of 60 meters.
28 domes.
3 convention halls.
1 baptistery.
1 underground crypt.
1 cloister.
Multiform staircases.
Dependencies and offices.
Walls, pillars, columns, arches, and stained glass windows.
The feat of its construction has featured:

This cathedral is poor and humble
as far as materials are concerned.
Its luxury lies in the pure faith with which it was elevated by its creator,
a man who lived, worked and died in it
in the most absolute austerity.

Uneducated farmer pioneer in the use of recycled materials.
He began building a cathedral on his own in 1961,
after being expelled from the Cistercian monastery of Santa María in Soria
due to tuberculosis.
He dedicated his entire life to building this unique work challenging
the established canons,
receiving sporadic help from volunteers who collaborated with him in his faith project.
He passed away at the age of 96
leaving an exemplary legacy currently managed by
MESSENGERS OF PEACE
